Typological shifts In Housing
Uppada has two major occupations fishing and weaving which have strongly influenced the spatial configuration of its housing. Following repeated cyclone impacts, the weaving community gradually shifted inland, away from the coast, leading to a change in housing type. This relocation altered both the form and use of domestic spaces, reflecting new livelihood patterns and a reduced dependence on direct coastal access.
