Mr. Mergu’s family resides in this house, and their primary occupation is fishing. The spatial layout of the house consists of a (Mundu Prāṅgaṇam) front yard that leads into the(Kūrchunē Gadi) living room, followed by two (Padakagadi) bedrooms. Also the house opens into a (Venuka Prāṅgaṇam)backyard and two (Vantagadi) kitchens, organized around a large (Āvaraṇam)courtyard. This courtyard functions as an important shared space for daily household activities.

2008

In 2008, their elder Son got married. After Devi Akka joined the household, the existing living room was converted into a
bedroom, marking a spatial change within the house.

Rentals
At present, Mr. Mergu resides in the house with his second wife. The remaining rooms have been rented out. The two kitchens have been leased as individual rooms to two different families. Additionally, the backyard and the living room have been rented to an Anganwadi, indicating a shift from purely residential use to mixed residential and institutional use.
