Sarda eats her meal on the ledge in the courtyard. Slowly, women from the neighbourhood join her, turning the space into an informal gathering area.
At school, Shree has his midday meal and plays with friends until the bell rings. His day shifts between the classroom and the playground.
On days when the catch is poor, Govind comes home early and sits in the front yard watching television, and other men from the neighbourhood gradually join him.
