Project Management Course was formulated with Perkins Eastman as a part of Allied Design Module for Semester 5. The Project Management module was scheduled over a week at Perkins Eastman office in Churchgate, Mumbai. Students were introduced to the methods of project management. Scheduling and progress chart of the project through its lifespan was discussed. Through week long activities and self exploratory subjects, the students  were taught different techniques and strategies to plan a project. The class was divided into eight groups with five members in each and were asked to curate a design project. The groups individuals established an imaginary firm/company and assigned roles to various members of the groups. For this, the students were asked to formulate a company and its background. Each group established the firm name along with its objectives and tagline based on  the principles and ideas that the firm would believe in. A presentation was put together by the end of the week, which briefly highlighted the team, it’s ideology, objectives and areas of work. The exercise aimed at developing qualities like time management, leadership qualities, team building, delivery quality product within due time, work efficiency etc. The requirements of different consultants for different project types were understood like one for the legal permission (liaison consultant), services consultant, acoustics consultant etc. Further the role play helped the students understand the techniques of pitching for a project, building up alliances and work commitment.
