Pangna,

Pangna is a small village in the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh. It is located 97 km from the state’s summer capital, Shimla and can be accessed by road. Situated at an elevation of 5000 feet Pangna lies in the lap of Shikari peak overlooking a valley intersected by several streams like the Pangna khud (river), which runs along the side of the village. The valley of Pangna makes up a part of the lower Himalayas. Some of the architecture in the region dates back to the 13th century built by the Suket dynasty. The village has a temple tower made in the kat kuni method of construction and a settlement around it consisting of a former market street leading up to the market and a set of houses surrounding it. The houses have particular types ranging from the courtyard house called the chowkinuma makaan, the shop house, the half courtyard house or the adha chowkinuma makaan and the verandah house of the baramda makaan.
