The walk began through a narrow passage that gradually opened up to a cluster of small houses. These structures, once owned by mill workers and used for industrial purposes, now serve a very different life. After years of abandonment, they have been repurposed into art exhibition spaces and studios. A short walk away,we visited a few antique stores which consisted of curated objects from across the countries.
Moving beyond the galleries, we reached Studio White and Grey , a space which works by blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design. The session there was led by artist Rahul, who introduced us to the tactile process of moulding clay. He demonstrated how subtle variations in pressure, rhythm, and tool selection can transform a raw lump of clay into various forms.
This visit helped us to understand how older industrial neighborhoods have been repurposed by utilising programs like exhibition space, studios and workshops. We also dwell into one such studio known as White and Gray where we tried to understand the working of the studios and their practices.
