EXPERIENCING FORM

At SEA, the work revolves around three fundamental premises. Firstly, architects are tasked with envisioning and shaping new spaces and forms. Secondly, this creative process is primarily conducted through various mediums such as drawings, texts, sounds, installations, models, and markings on two-dimensional surfaces. Thirdly, spaces and forms inherently communicate and manifest themselves as experiences. Thus, when architects imagine and craft space and form, they are essentially engaged in the creation of experiences. In line with these principles, the course delves into understanding and investigating the mechanics of experience. The key questions include: How do individuals perceive and interact with space and form? How can one innovate experiences through space and form? The broad objectives of the course include: familiarising students with the mechanics of experiences, and secondly, building the capacity in students to articulate experiences and visualize space/form related to such experiences.
